Camping With the Neighbors

Last weekend 6/18 we had a lot of fun. We went camping with the kids next door. We drove up the canyon and found a nice place to set up the tents. Then we went for a drive to try to find some old silver mines. The road was blocked by the snow so we went for a hike instead. Then we enjoyed smores over the campfire. We are really glad our friends were able to come camping with us.

Quail Lake

We started our summer by vacationing with Kira's parents. We went camping at Quail Lake. We had a great time boating and hiking. Aliya was able to get up on the wake board her first try ever! I am so excited to go boating again now we have two cute little wake boarders.

We had a lot of success with wake boarding. Everyone on the trip was able to get up even grandpa!

New York

This year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary in July. Joey decided to surprise me and celebrate it a little early. He made all the plans and reservations, packed my bags secretly, and pretended like we had a company breakfast to attend. Instead of actually going to the breakfast his parents dropped us off at the airport. I had no idea where he would be taking me. Finally he confessed and informed me we were actually going to Boston and New York City for the next 7 days. The first time we have ever left the kids for more than a day or two. We had such a great time, but started to really miss the kids after just a few days.

Our morning jog in Boston, Massachusetts

We got to see Mary Poppins on Broadway

New York is a very crazy and busy town. I think I had culture shock for the first few days because I couldn't see why anyone would willingly go to such a crazy city. But after a day or two I started to warm up to it. We had a great time exploring all the historic sites, museums, and Broadway. Up till now I have never really liked cheesecake. New York really does have good cheesecake, I couldn't get enough.

New York City Sky Scrapers

Statue of Liberty

On our tour of Liberty Island we ran into a very nice park ranger who gave us tickets to get into the museum. It was really cool to go inside and see how she was made. We also got to go up the 10 stories making up the base of the statue and see her up close.

We had a great time on my surprise vacation,

Happy 10th Anniversary!

Spring Break

Spring Break

Spring Break was so fun this year! Thursday we began heading down to Lake Powell to enjoy the weather.

On the way we decided to ride the motorbikes and take the kids to see Goblin Valley for the first time. We found an awesome campsite just outside Goblin Valley which had access to tonz of bike trails. The kids loved the goblins so much they wanted to climb the rocks for hours. Once it started to get dark we convinced them we needed to head back to camp.

The next day we made it to the houseboat in Lake Powell. We were able to play on the beach and enjoy a movie.

Saturday was super exciting. Joey set up ropes and helped the girls repel down a huge rock. Then we attempted to fish but didn't get even one bite.

We all had so much fun!

Aliya was so proud she conquered her challenge!

Families Are Forever

July 25th, 2008 we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. This was a great way for Joey and I to celebrate our 8th wedding Anniversary. What a hot July day!. Everyone waited so patiently in the heat for about 2 hours. To make the wait worth while we were all able to enjoy dinner at the Spagetti Factory. Thanks so much to all of you who were able to join us for this special day. Also an extra special thanks to Joey's cousin Dina who flew all the way out here from California it means so much to us. We love you all so much!!

1st Day of School

Little Joe was so excited to go running with mom while the girls were at school.
"I love my sister"....

Almost as much as I love my new back pack!

I'm so ready for 1st grade. Mom are you?

I even get my very own big kid desk!
Yesterday was the first day of school. Madi and Aliya were so excited to start school this year. They have been counting down the days for the past two weeks. Aliya was up bright and early at 7am waking everyone up to get ready for her new school. The girls were very excited to be going to the same school. Both Madi and Ali loved their first day of school. Aliya made a new friend (Alexis) and they both were able to hang out with some old friends. Madi's favorite part of the day was "morning meeting." Her class did a prize drawing and she won a coloring book. Aliya's is in 1st grade this year and her teacher is Mrs. Fox. Madison is already in 3rd grade with Mrs. Swenson, I cant believe how the time flies.
